Prima di scappare via da faccialibro, mi sono preso la briga di contattare i miei 439 contatti (meno i parenti, diciamo un 5%). Di questi, mi avranno risposto una cinquantina (diciamo all'incirca un 10-15%). Togliendo poi coloro ai quali sto sul caXXo (ma allora perche' sono fra la loro lista di "amici"? saranno un 10-15% a dire tanto?), rimangono senza risposta un 60-70% dei contatti, mas o meno.

Queste persone non vogliono rimanere in contatto con il sottoscritto, non hanno neppure aperto faccialibro negli ultimi 20 giorni oppure non rispondono di-base ai private message (imho, l'unica cosa seria di faccialibro).

Ne deduco percio' che faccialibro e' tutto aria fritta (per un buon 60-70%).

stasera mi sento soddisfatto. a pezzi, ma soddisfatto. sono riuscito a chiudere una -cosa- che da tempo avevo "da fare"... sara- un anno che me la porto dietro, e proprio stasera l-ho chiusa. ma erano anni che mi struggeva il dilemma del backup dei dati personali, delle foto, dei video...
beh, dopo lungo lavoro credo di avercela fatta. ho trovato un metodo e con tanta buona volonta- ho chiuso il task da fare, ahah.

ho un computer fisso in camera, un portatile per il lavoro, un muletto per la musica con lino sopra e il vecchio portatile del lavoro. come fare a gestire il tutto e assicurarsi che - il meno possibile- vada perso?

non mi fido dei -sistemi di backup automatico- e allora procedo a mano. uso solo delicious per i bookmark condivisi sui diversi portatili. poi ho due hd esterni in rete attaccati qua e la. uno, quello vecchio lo uso per un accesso veloce. e- aggiornato diciamo mensilmente, a mano (copia, incolla, non sovrascrivi)... ci metti un sec, a mano. l-altro hd esterno, piu- nuovo e capiente, lo accendo una volta ogni due o tre mesi e lo aggiorno, di nuovo, a mano (copia, incolla, non sovrascivi)... ci metti 10 minuti.

tra un anno, mi compro un nuovo hd esterno e quello vecchio lo passo a mio padre che me lo tiene storato in un armadio a Rivoli, ahahahah

alcuni stanno andando verso soluzioni di storage in rete... ma io sinceramente non mi fido ancora... delegare fuori dei dati personali non me la sento ancora... molto piu- sicuri a casa mia (poi se si parla di due file di lavoro su gdocs niente di male, ne)

Terry Gilliam è indubbiamente uno di quei pochi registi che fanno del cinema la vera arte dell'immaginario. Sin dal suo primo film Brazil aveva dato prova di una creativita'e di una cultura vastissima in campo figurativo. Le sue sono state produzioni spesso tormentate (a partire dai problemi di budget quella de Le avventure del Barone di Münchausen fino al disastro del film su Don Chisciotte splendidamente raccontato nel documentario Lost in La Mancha) e anche in questo caso non sono mancati i problemi. La morte improvvisa di Heath Ledger ha portato a una revisione profonda della sceneggiatura che ha prodotto l'affidamento del suo personaggio anche a Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell e Jude Law che hanno devoluto il compenso alla figlia dell'attore.

Gilliam ha saputo fare, come si dice, di necessità virtù riuscendo a realizzare un omaggio davvero particolare all'attore scomparso. Perché questo suo film è un inno alla vita e all'immaginario che debbono poter vincere nonostante tutto e, spesso, anche nonostante i lati oscuri delle fantasie che ci pervadono. È un gioco di alto equilibrismo sulla corda tesa della fantasia quello a cui il regista ci propone di partecipare. Gilliam è da sempre Parnassus. Non sarà immortale ma la sua inesauribile voglia di immagini che (al contrario di quanto troppo spesso accade) non ottundano la fantasia ma la provochino ad aprirsi a nuovi orizzonti è rimasta intatta con il trascorrere degli anni e, grazie agli sviluppi della tecnologia, ha trovato nuovi materiali su cui esercitarsi. Il bambino che è in Terry è più vivace che mai, conosce la luce e il buio, la felicità e la paura e aspetta che passiamo a trovarlo. Vive sul carro del Dottor Parnassus.

La storia si ripete e si ripete e si ripete e ...

Sto per partire per il Noborder Camp (azzo sarei gia' dovuto essere su a Bruxelles oggi, ma uno strike ryanair mi ha ritardato il volo di due giorni!!! :/ ) ... e ieri sera e' passato all'Asilo John Zerzan.
L'avevo gia' visto proprio in quel dell'inghilterra, al Rampart... e i ricordi sono decisamente cosi' vivi: http://studio001.blogspot.com/2006/05/r-m-p-r-t.html
Rivederlo qui a Torino, proprio all'Asilo e' un flash. Di quelli avuti quando tornavo dal mio anno sabbatico. Dove sono? All'Asilo, si', e' vero.
Scambio due chiacchiere con la moglie, in un angolo, mentre la discussione e' entrata ormai nel vivo. Gli racconto della mia esperienza a Londra, 15 persone in tutto, la palla che passava a destra ed a sinistra, velocemente, ma in un ambiente decisamente "freddo" (sara' stato il buio Rampart a darmi quella sensazione?). Qui all'Asilo, invece, sara' anche per colpa dell'aria cosi' rarefatta, la discussione e' abbastanza centrata sul racconto di John, mono ale. La traduzione istantanea (e zoppicante) rallenta il ritmo... ed e' difficile interagire per riflessioni condivise.
Ma la voglia di dire la propria e' tanta... e anche se lentamente, la discussione prende il via. Al centro l'anarco - primitivismo. Per noi di Torino, figli della FIAT, operai, e' pero' gia' difficile a "sopravvivere" al sistema: come possiamo renderci attivi per essere anarco - primitivismi quando e' gia' difficile difendere i propri spazi?
Cosa distruggeresti, prima di tutto, allora chiede John? Il primitivismo e' l'unica (THE ONLY ONE) via per la sopravvivenza della razza umana, ormai soggiocata dal consumismo (+ specializzazione e addomesticazione)!
Qualcuno distruggerebbe una scuola con simboli politici separazionisti, qualcuno non distruggerebbe assolutamente i libri...

See him again here in Turin, at Asilo, had been a flash. Of those had when I returned from my sabbatical year: where am I? At Asilo, yes, is true.
I Chat a little with his wife, in a corner, while the discussion had been now entered in turn. I told her my experience in London, 15 people, passing the token to the right and left, quickly, but in a "cold" way (maybe dark of Rampart gave me that feeling?). Here in Asilo, however (maybe air was too thin), the discussion is focused on the story of John, mono-way. Instant translation (and limping) will slow the argouments... and it was so difficult to interact to reach shared reflections.
But the desire to have a say is so much ... and even if slowly, the discussion gets on. At the center of discussion, the anarchist - primitivism. For us from Turin, Fiat's childrens, workers, is event difficult to "survive" in the system: how can we be active anarchist - primitivist when is so even difficult to defend our own space, i.e. social center?
What do you wanna destroy, first of all, then asks John? Primitivism is the only (THE ONLY ONE) way for the human race to survive, now under consumism (+ specialization and domestication)! Do wo wanna wait for collapse, or do you wanna start from something (destroy something)?
Someone would destroy a school with political symbols about separation, someone will not ever destroy the books ...

At this year's Camp for Climate Action we plan on taking action against RBS HQ and the fossil fuel industry. This is a callout for individuals to get organised before the camp.

Forming your affinity group:

Get together with your mates, or make new friends
Figure out your limits, aims, boundaries and strategies that work for you.
Assess the amount of risk and style of action you feel most empowered to take.
Consider the different roles needed what kit to get and how you want to organise as a group. As a team you should support and empower each other to be as self efficient and strategic as possible.

Not already in a group? Want to meet some people to take action with? At the camp, Action Support will be there running workshops to help you form new affinity groups and strengthen already existent groups. We are also providing a safe space for individuals and affinity groups in the need of advice, resources, information and support.

It’s also the time to start thinking about the legal implications of your actions and how you plan to support each other pre and post- action.

Things to consider:

First off, if you’re not from Scotland, don’t forget the law is different here. Secondly, even if you are not arrested then think about whether or not you could be identified later.

Remember; try taking precautions beforehand so you don’t get caught before you do what you’re planning on doing!

13-17 AUGUST 2010

From midday on Friday 13th August you are invited to a convergence space
in central Cardiff. The location of this space is Cardiff Quaker Meeting
House, 43 Charles Street, Cardiff.

From here people will be directed to a train station, where minibuses will
be available to transport people to the the site. Experienced cyclists may
wish to bring bikes and cycle to the site.

NB: you will need Ł4.50 each way for the train fare.

The location of the site will be announced at approximately 2pm on Friday
13th August.

At 2pm on 13th August people will be sentenced at Merthyr Crown Court for
the lock-on to the railway line between Ffos-y-Fran and Aberthaw power
station. It would be great if people could go to the court to support
them. Transport will be arranged to the site after.

The convergence space in Cardiff will be open until 5pm. We encourage
everyone who can to reach the site on Friday night, although the minibuses
will be available throughout Saturday from the train station.

Over the course of its eighty-minute duration, the CD distills the vinyl releases into a current of sound that plays through as a single uninterrupted composition, transporting the listener to a bleak arctic soundscape that is raked by gales of reverberant sound and dotted here and there with frozen columns of bass. A jagged rhythm pounds away beneath the inhospitable tundra, struggling to break through to the surface, while geysers of pure sound hiss and steam their way through the cracks.

Delicately balancing between dancefloor euphoria and deep ambient immersion, the album is rife with tension. At times the equilibrium is lost, such as on 'Ocean Of Emptiness' or 'Winter In Seney', where the mix plunges into a deep fjord of aquatic echo and only a few knotty chords and stray rhythmic clicks struggle to maintain momentum. In other places, such as on 'Elysian', the beat thrusts through the thick pads and murky bass like a relentless engine á la Phylyp’s 'Trak' EP. In comparison with the rest of the album’s stark atmospherics, the closing track, 'Empyrean', comes across like a veritable sonic oasis with its skanking bassline, laid back riddim and generally chilled vibe. In fact, it’s the most overtly “dub” track that any of Deepchord’s cohorts have produced yet, recalling Deadbeat or Pole at their most direct.

'The Coldest Season' may ultimately lack in its ability to move a dancefloor, but, in terms of sheer quality, it rivals Basic Channel’s vaunted catalog. Alla musica mi sa che non posso proprio rinunciare... ho come l'impressione che sia ormai la mia 'linea guida' ...
Mi provoca emozioni che nessuna altra arte riesce a darmi. Rido da solo ad un assolo divertente: che sia musica sintetica o musica suonata, non c'e' niente da fare, rimango impallato ad ascoltarla, a guardare le note che scorrono per aria. Gli ioni positivi mi colpiscono, li vedo come pochi altri. Niente da fare, gli altri non capiscono e io rido da solo, come se la pazzia fosse preso possesso di me... ma no e' cosi': io vedo cose che altri neppure possono immaginare.

Anche se cerco di starci alla larga e' li' che ritorna, come in quel di Geneva dove un vero terremoto DUB e' li' ad aspettarci in mezzo al parco. Illegal party o no, liberta' o commercializzazione oggi non fanno testo. Fa testo girare per il mondo e reincontrare le stesse emozioni. Con la gente diversa attorno, con le note completamente diverse siamo sempre attorno al musicista ad incalzarlo... ad alzare i battiti, a battere forte i piedi, a saltare su ritmi sfernati.

Mancano solo 5 minuti, dice il dj... ci dobbiamo capire ancora ragazzi ;=)
Non capisco una fava di quello che dice, ma sembra c chieda di avvicinarci a lui... tutti, nessuno escluso, si fanno avanti. E' un concerto che lascia il segno.

BIKE PRIDE: Domenica 6 giugno, partenza alle 15 dal Parco del Valentino, lungo viale Virgilio dietro il Castello.

Il primo Bike Pride è un grande corteo a carattere ecologista a sostegno della mobilità ciclabile e sostenibile. E’ una parata di biciclette, un’invasione festosa e pacifica di biciclette e di mezzi ecologici (di ogni tipo!) nel cuore di Torino in una giornata ricca di eventi.

E’ una manifestazione di legittimazione culturale e sociale, una rivendicazione di spazi e di tutele a favore del ciclista urbano come soggetto attivo nella difesa dell’ambiente. Il contesto urbano espone continuamente ad evidenti rischi i cittadini che si muovono in bicicletta: il Bike Pride vuole esortare ad una politica di maggiore tutela e impegno verso i cittadini che scelgono forme di mobilità più rispettose dell‘ambiente e della sicurezza.

Considering that climate change represents a real threat to the existence of humanity, of living beings and our Mother Earth as we know it today;Noting the serious danger that exists to islands, coastal areas, glaciers in the Himalayas, the Andes and mountains of the world, poles of the Earth, warm regions like Africa, water sources, populations affected by increasing natural disasters, plants and animals, and ecosystems in general;

Making clear that those most affected by climate change will be the poorest in the world who will see their homes and their sources of survival destroyed, and who will be forced to migrate and seek refuge;

Confirming that 75% of historical emissions of greenhouse gases originated in the countries of the North that followed a path of irrational industrialization;

Noting that climate change is a product of the capitalist system;

Regretting the failure of the Copenhagen Conference caused by countries called “developed”, that fail to recognize the climate debt they have with developing countries, future generations and Mother Earth;

Affirming that in order to ensure the full fulfillment of human rights in the twenty-first century, it is necessary to recognize and respect Mother Earth’s rights;

Reaffirming the need to fight for climate justice;

Recognizing the need to take urgent actions to avoid further damage and suffering to humanity, Mother Earth and to restore harmony with nature;

The Government of the Plurinational State of Bolivia calls on the peoples of the world, social movements and Mother Earth’s defenders, and invites scientists, academics, lawyers and governments that want to work with their citizens to the World People’s Conference on Climate Change and the Rights of Mother Earth to be held from 20th to 22nd April 2010 in Cochabamba, Bolivia.

The World People’s Conference on Climate Change and the Rights of Mother Earth has as objectives:

1) To analyze the structural and systemic causes that drive climate change and to propose radical measures to ensure the well-being of all humanity in harmony with nature

2) To discuss and agree on the project of a Universal Declaration of Mother Earth Rights

3) To agree on proposals for new commitments to the Kyoto Protocol and projects for a COP Decision under the United Nations Framework for Climate Change that will guide future actions in those countries that are engaged with life during climate change negotiations and in all United Nations scenarios, related to:

- Climate debt
- Climate change migrants-refugees
- Emission reductions
- Adaptation
- Technology transfer
- Finance
- Forest and Climate Change
- Shared Vision
- Indigenous Peoples, and
- Others

4) To work on the organization of the World People’s Referendum on Climate Change

5) To analyze and develop an action plan to advance the establishment of a Climate Justice Tribunal

A year ago today, in the early hours of the morning, the police made the
biggest preemptive arrest of environmental campaigners in UK history. 114
individuals were arrested at a school in Sneinton, Nottingham, on
suspicion of conspiracy to commit criminal damage and aggravated trespass
at the 2nd largest coal-fired power station in the UK, Ratcliffe-on-Soar.
After almost 24 hours in custody, all 114 were released on bail without
any charges having been brought. Several of those arrested were given
restrictive bail conditions and many had their homes raided and personal
property seized.

At the time, the arrests brought about widespread criticism of police
tactics, especially given it took place less than two weeks after the
violent policing of the G20. Activists, politicians, and NGOs all
condemned the intelligence-led arrests, which many saw as cases of
thought-crime. One politician said that confidence in policing had hit
“rock bottom”.

Months later, the Crown Prosecution Service decided the literally tonnes
of evidence collected by the police was enough to charge just 26 of the
114 with conspiracy to commit aggravated trespass. Those 26 are currently
going through a long legal process, with a Crown Court Trial now not due
to start till the Autumn.

But what the last year has shown is the great resilience of the climate
movement. For the past 365 days the actions have not stopped rolling, but
instead continue to grow in size and intensity. October saw arguably the
largest scale climate action to date, when over 1000 people converged to
shut down Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station. December saw 1000s of activists
travel to Copenhagen, where the foundation was laid for us to become part
of genuinely international movement. Meanwhile, in the early months of
2010 there has been planning up and down the country, with regions taking
local action as we ask ourselves “What Next?” with ever growing enthusiasm
and energy.

A year ago today the police throw at us their worst... and we stand
undefeated.

A new fund is being launched today to fight back against police
aggression. Travel costs for climate activists traveling up and down the
country for ever-lengthening legal proceedings have been quite literally
crippling.

The Skint Fund has been set up to address this, and needs everyone’s help

MOSCOW - A Russian Soyuz craft carrying an American and two Russian cosmonauts successfully linked up with the International Space Station on Sunday.

Come and learn: climbing and rope access, building tree houses,
tunnelling, cooking for the masses, knot-tying, fire-lighting, wild foods

At Mainshill Solidarity Camp we occupied land facing destruction. We lived
outside, grew as a community and took continuous targeted action. We want
to focus on the skills needed to occupy and defend land with a weekend
long event bringing people together to learn and share the skills for
living outdoors as a community, building defences, resisting evictions and
thinking about strategies for action. These are transferable skills that
can be taken away and used in a wide range of campaigns and actions.

This skillshare will be a safe, inclusive and participatory environment
for learning new practical skills and is open to people of all abilities
and experiences. If you have any queries or special requirements, please
let us know - we will do our best to accommodate everyone's needs.

We will be asking for donations toward food and other costs from those

One year ago, on February 24th, 2009, we opened the floodgates and let fans experience QUAKE LIVE. We'd like to invite you to take a look back at the first year of the game.

The number of people that registered when the QUAKE LIVE Beta opened far exceeded our wildest expectations. Over a quarter million players created accounts right after its launch and that was through word of mouth only! Since that time, players have spent over 8.9 million hours in over 60 million ranked matches, earning an impressive 8 million awards and 810 million frags.

Our title of 'Most Time Played' goes to Pudrick, who has spent nearly 56 days in-game on ranked servers since launch. Our two Dark Angels, Yakumo and Trajan, have been battling for the title of 'Most Frags', a title currently held by Yakumo, who has gained over 258,000 kills.

We know not everyone has the time to commit to scaling these heights of first-person mayhem, so we will be offering a special award to all players who complete one online match during our two week anniversary celebration that takes place February 23rd through March 9th.

In our effort to provide continued support for QUAKE LIVE we have made many changes and additions to the game over the course of the past year. Since launch we've introduced 'Duel Detective', coupled with improved matchmaking features that allows players to locate other players with similar skills. We have also extended our platform support to include Mac OS X and Linux users.

We've also launched pro Team DeathMatch and Instagib CTF servers, made extensive hit registration improvements and added Shoutcasting features and competition settings.

The introduction of these competition features has made QUAKE LIVE a rapidly growing presence in eSports online, and in LAN tournaments. For the first time, QuakeCon 2009 held separate professional and open divisions, and became home to the first-ever QUAKE LIVE Masters Championship and QUAKE LIVE Open Tournament.

Following the success of QuakeCon we partnered with the Electronic Sports League, which hosted tournaments across the globe in Cologne, Dubai, Edmonton, and Taipei. Twelve competitors qualified to continue on to the ESL Intel Extreme Masters World Championships to be held March 3rd-6th at the CeBIT convention in Hannover, Germany:

Some Thoughts on Vancouver and the Black Bloc

I love a good riot. The distant sound of things breaking, the smoke billowing from whatever is burning, the young men and women busily smashing whatever they can find into fist-sized pieces, launching the objects over the heads of their fellow rioters (if all goes well) and into the ranks of the black-clad police with their Ninja Turtle armor, translucent plastic shields and their array of far more sophisticated weaponry. I love the scent of tear gas (if I'm just on the outskirts of the cloud), it's exhilarating, the scent of possibility, of the situation's volatility, the thrilling uncertainty. The excitement of seeing the barricades get lit on fire, knowing that no police vehicle, no matter how well-armored, is going to drive through that.

They're going to have to put the fire out first, and until they manage to get some big hoses to the scene (which might require the participation of the fire department, which might not want to participate), this is our block. Maybe the police even retreat a couple times under particularly heavy volleys of rocks and bottles, the crowd surges and cheers, meanwhile the more experienced rioters stay busy gathering wheelbarrows full of more things to throw at the cops, knowing they'll be back soon. My neighbor says it's because I'm an Aries, but whatever it is, if I find myself in the midst of such a situation, the memories are all fond ones of the rush and the togetherness of the moment. It's a warm, fuzzy feeling, really.

However, most people in most of the countries with which I'm fairly familiar – the US, Canada, England, Germany, Denmark, Australia, Japan – don't feel that way. For most people I meet riots are scary things and they don't care or notice much whether it was a chain store's windows smashed or a local one, whether only SUV's were torched or hybrids, too, whether any passersby got hurt in the process or not. The major news outlets don't pay much attention to what the underlying reasons for the rioting is – just enough about the situation for people to associate the riot with the cause and the cause with scary people who aren't like them.

I've been home in Portland over the past couple weeks, not in Vancouver for the Olympics and the accompanying protests that tend to materialize when a gigantic corporate event and the international media covering it rolls into (and over) the town. By European standards the event the media was focusing on sounds like it was a pathetic little riot, a few smashed windows and overturned newspaper boxes, but it managed to attract the lion's share of Canadian and even international media coverage, as usual – it's sensational, but more than that it serves the purposes of corporate media outlets who, for political reasons, want to make most protesters look bad and don't want people going out to rock the boat in the first place.

By my informal count traveling around, I'd say that most people in many countries are afraid to go to protests, even if their sympathies are with those protesting. They're afraid of what they've heard in the media about how things get out of control. They'd rather avoid lines of police in riot gear, and they feel unsafe at the thought that what they believed was going to be a nonviolent event might suddenly get scary when a small group of people decide to start throwing rocks through store windows.

Some of the rock-throwing anarchists (as opposed to the far more numerous non-rock-throwing variety of anarchists) will now ask, who cares? Who cares if lots of people are afraid to come to protests because of us. They're “liberals” anyway (anyone who doesn't support your right to riot is a liberal, in case you didn't know).

But here's the thing: we need a mass movement, and contrary to what certain popular primitivist authors like to say, a few thousand dedicated people are not going to accomplish much of anything, let alone revolutionary change, without the support of a mass movement. That is, whatever tactics you're using to organize resistance groups of any kind, the tactics need to be ones that don't completely alienate the general public (very much including the “liberals”). And the general public tends to be freaked out by groups of people committing acts of violence (or forms of property destruction that seem violent to them). In recent decades lots of people in lots of places have embraced all kinds of militant and often effective tactics – strikes, bus boycotts, sit-ins, building take-overs, nonviolent civil disobedience of all kinds. Those of any political persuasion who would say that tactics like these are universally ineffective are simply ignorant.

Equally, there have been some pretty darn effective movements that have employed violence around the world over the past few decades and centuries, and you'd have to be an extremely ideological pacifist not to recognize that. But these movements that have employed violent means have used a lot more than rocks. It takes a pretty desperate situation (say, Cuba in 1959) for movements like that to garner popular support, and there's not a serious guerrilla movement anywhere that wouldn't admit that the fish need the sea in which to swim, or they quickly die.

In the context of most modern, relatively well-off countries, it seems quite evident that rioting – even if it's not much of a riot – only impedes anyone's efforts at building a movement. It is, in fact, a much-used strategy of the police, as we've seen time and time again certainly throughout North America, Europe and elsewhere. I have no doubt that the first rock thrown is thrown by an undercover cop at least half the time in most situations. I also have no doubt that most of the young people participating in Black Bloc and advocating for “diversity of tactics” (translation: “don't tell me not to throw rocks, you oppressive, ageist liberal carnivore!”) are well-meaning people doing a lot of good work in their communities when they're not throwing rocks through windows. But whether or not they want to believe it, when they start throwing rocks during a march they are doing exactly the same work as the police provocateurs – I mean literally, not figuratively.

This Saturday Climate Camp London will be joining the tens of thousands of
people descending on London to help put the spotlight on the failing
international climate talks in Copenhagen.

Now is the time to challenge the vested interests, corporations and
political systems that are causing climate change - so we’ve got a secret
plan to take a space in the city after the wave!

Sat 5th December, after the wave – bring a pop up tent and warm clothes
because this time we're definitely staying!

CAMP OUT WHY?

Because the failing UNFCCC talks in Copenhagen are at best planning false
solutions to climate change like carbon trading. If the government and
corporations get their way, then the next crisis won’t be financial. It
will be much worse. The stupidity of total trust in markets will only
bring catastrophe.

Dear friends,
as we take down the exhibitions, the time has come for us to say good-bye. You can’t imagine how empty we feel without the supermarkets, shopdropping, randomly bouncing balls, electronic insects, magic dust, generative art, friends, experts, conference speakers, students, artists, journalists and families with lots of kids around us.

The time has come to thank our guests and hear about what they – and you, friends of the Share Festival – found most inspiring at this year’s festival.
We invite you to download the Share Festival 2009 - Market Forces catalogue in pdf format.

We’ve already gathered just how much you liked our new venue, the Regional Museum of Natural Sciences, where all the festival exhibitions, conferences and the Orchestra Meccanica Marinetti performance were held, seeing as you filled all the events on the jam-packed Festival programme to the brim! You also seemed to appreciate Espace, where the Optofonica collective performed, the Quazza Laboratory at the University of Turin, where the Digital Orbit conferences were held, and the studios of the Virtual Reality Multimedia Park, where you seemed to hang off every word at the CReATE conference.

Over six thousand of you came! Thanks to you, we’ve become one of the most important events in Italy for the digital arts and new media.
The leading, avant-garde quality of the contents and perspectives showcased by the Piemonte Share Festival was also reflected in the attention and interest shown in us by local and national media, which dedicated without exception flattering words and key space to the event.

It was not only the in-depth theoretical discussions and interesting perspectives opened up by the conference that attracted you though. In fact the activist edge of the festival also attracted curiosity and interest, as Shopdropping in downtown Turin proved great crowd-magnet to students, ecologists and curious standers-by, who accompanied Salvatore Iaconesi and Oriana Persico, who presented the installation Squatting Supermarket at the festival, in their rounds.

Even the virtual suicide on Facebook won you over, as over 1000 users of the world’s most popular social network committed seppukoo, and over 15,000 connections were made to the website www.seppukoo.com following its launch at the Piemonte Share Festival!

“Turin is the capital of the future” was the full-spread headline printed across the national culture section of La Stampa. Together with Piemonte Share Festival, another two events were a part of Digital Orbit this year, the Regione Piemonte project designed to celebrate the leading role the region plays in new cultural movements tied to ICT. Together with View Conference and Club To Club, as well as CReATE, Piemonte Share Festival has taken Piemonte a step further into the future.

2) WHY WE'RE GOING
There are loads of reasons to come to Copenhagen in December. Here's three:

* THE WORLD WILL BE WATCHING: The Copenhagen Climate Summit is said to be
'the most important summit ever', with governments, corporations and NGOs
having spent the year hyping it up as D-Day for a global climate deal.
Whatever happens, it's a moment when the world's attention will be on
Copenhagen.

* RESIST THE FALSE SOLUTIONS: There are a series of days of action planned
during the summit, ranging from a mass action to shutdown the harbour of
Copenhagen, to a day of civil disobedience to turn the UN summit space
into a people's summit for climate justice.

* BUILD A GLOBAL MOVEMENT: Thousands of activists from more than 100
countries around the world will be coming to Copenhagen. Deal or no deal,
we need to build an international grassroots movement for climate justice,
and this will be a unique opportunity to do that.

information and training at the School of Oriental and African studies
(room tbc). As you know, time is really running and we need to ensure that
if and when we get to Copenhagen, we are well prepared and in loose
affinity groups. Many of us may not know what the significance of
Copenhagen COP15 is (or even what it stand for) so here will be our chance
to really engage with it and understand how it is best for us individually
to take action. The evening shall run like this:

6 - 8pm Training (This includes Media, Legal and Medic and also pointers
on where you can learn more).
8 - 9pm Free food and info films
9 - 10:30pm Direct Action training - arranged by 'Stepping into Action'
from Climate Camp - should be a giggle.
BYOB - Bring your own Balaclava!!!

We shall also give you more info on Legal and Medic training when it's
happening in London and facilitate anything else that you may need. Please

A) TAR SANDS TOUR - 13-22 NOVEMBER

Bloody oil: the struggle against the Tar Sands

Indigenous people in Canada are fighting 'the most destructive project on
earth' - the extraction of oil from Tar Sands. Hear their stories first
hand and get involved in the new UK campaign to halt one of the world's
fastest growing causes of climate crisis.

Featuring, from the Indigenous Environmental Network in Canada:

Eriel Tchekwie Deranger, a Dene woman belonging to the Athabasca Chipewyan
First Nation of Northern Alberta, is the Freedom from Oil Campaigner for
the Rainforest Action Network.

Heather Milton-Lightening, from the Pasqua First Nation in Saskatchewan,
has been organizing with the Native Youth Movement since 1995. She is now
the Alberta based Tar sands Campaigner for the Indigenous Environmental
Network.

Melina Laboucan-Massimo is Lubicon Cree from Northern Alberta. She has
been working as an advocate for Indigenous rights for the past 9 years,
and currently works for Greenpeace Canada

The European Union routinely claims 'leadership' on climate change. But in
creating the world´s largest carbon market, promoting agrofuels and Carbon
Capture and Storage as solutions, it is failing to offer environmentally
sustainable and socially just alternatives for tackling the climate
crisis. This workshop will look at how the EU´s carbon market is failing,
show how EU negotiators are contributing to a bad deal in Copenhagen, and
highlight how the EU subsidises some of the dirtiest industries in the
name of 'clean' technology. It will then look at the alternatives needed
to promote climate justice in the EU and beyond.

Younger Brother was formed in 2003 by Simon Posford and Benji Vaughan. Their particular genre of music is difficult to accurately classify as it suggests many different forms of electronic music without subscribing to a specific style. Their debut album, A Flock of Bleeps, released on the Twisted Records record label has taken on cult status in underground electronica scenes around the world; with the duo drawing crowds from across the globe. Their second album, titled "The Last Days of Gravity" was released on October 15th, 2007. L'idea, semplice.
Un festival di band e label indipendenti, dove dar sfogo in 2 giorni a tutto quello che matura e cresce passionale nei bassifondi, nell'underground. Tutto quello che continua a rimanere vero e viscerale. Uno spazio unico e libero, in un cartellone estivo ed afoso, rimbalzato da nomi più o meno già conosciuti, cerchiamo qualcosa di nuovo e vogliamo renderlo unico.
La mission.
Musica trasversale, per ogni palato, in un continuo fondersi di generi, per poter scoprire qualcosa che già non si conosce. Dal rock'n roll all'hardcore, dall'elettronica sperimentale alla melodia del cantautorato, dall'allegria spensierata, alle cavalcate post apocalittiche. Vogliamo che ce ne sia per ogni gusto. E vogliamo mescolarli, per rendere l'evento unico e particolare.
Location.
Un luogo dove incontrarsi e dove incontrare. Un grande prato ed un area verde in cui perdere il senso del tempo, oscillando tra un concerto ed una birra. Dove poter venire in compagnia, soli, con gli amici, con gli amanti, con i bambini. Una grande grigliata collettiva per la domenica pomeriggio, sollazzandosi sulle note di musica suonata in acustico. Uno spazio espositivo, dove trovare musica, dove scambiare esperienze, dove respirare aria nuova.
Si, ma i costi?
Crisi, dicono. E allora scegli tu quanto pagare la musica, Up to you decidere quanto pagare l'ingresso, per tutto quello che abbiamo voluto portare. Un festival con un idea, un concetto, un'attitudine. Una urgenza comunicativa, si sarebbe detto anni fa. Qundi, up to you, la scelta di quanto e come valutare l'offerta.
NO.
Non c'è assolutamente niente da festeggiare, questo non è un festival, questa non è una festa, questo non è periodo. Minimale il nome, minimale il concetto: il 2009 non è anno, perchè questi non sono anni. Crisi? Forse. Alla fine è sempre il solito ciclo, dove qualcosa si rompe, qualcuno l'aggiusta, e si riparte. Fino alla prossima rottura. E noi, ne siamo certi, facciamo parte di quelli che sanno come girano le cose, i folli che spazzano la nave. Altro che ottimismo. Negazione allo stato puro.
NO.
Non siamo il portale di riferimento, non siamo il festival Indipendente per antonomasia, non siamo imprescindibilmente trendy e di moda, non abbiamo un festival ad impatto zero (manfrine, nessuno l'ha mai ottenuto, l'impatto zero), non è un'azione benefica a risanare La Crisi.
NO.
Neghiamo l'esistente, proponiamo formule vecchie con nuovi ingredienti. E andiamo al sodo. Due giorni da viversi intensamente, su due palchi, 30 live act di altrettante band. Un non festival di band ed etichette accompagnatrici, musica intelligente e interessante, trasversale. Robe nuove, robe strane, robe forti, roba che fa bene, roba per buongustai e per chi sa come vanno le cose e come invece dovrebbero andare. Belle cose. Indoor elettrico, spaziando dall'elettronica noise al rock'n roll sudato e gridato; outdoor acustico, cantautorato passionale, viscerale e divertente, colonna sonora d'aperitivo e di un grande pranzo collettivo domenicale, dove è obbligatorio esserci, perchè non capita sempre. E sappiamo come vanno queste cose. Tutto, rigorosamente, live. Ampissimo spazio espositivo di label e banchetti, grande area verde, un grande contenitore dove scambiare opinioni e interessi, dove viversi la musica e un festival REALE. Perchè non abbiamo niente da festeggiare, questo non è un festival e questi non sono anni, ma ne abbiamo una gran voglia.
Crisi, dicono.
E allora scegli tu quanto pagare la musica, up to you, decidere quanto pagare l'ingresso, per tutto quello che abbiamo voluto portare.

[ONE MONTH TILL FESTIVAL LIFT-OFF!]

[RELOADED] is nearly upon us! Here is some vital information that you will need if planning to attend the festival.

GATES OPEN: JULY 30TH - 09:30AM
The festival will start JULY 31ST 08.00 am for the special opening ceremony.

CARS: Parking is located 2KM from the entrance - there will be non-stop shuttle buses running 24 hours to the site entrance and back at the price of 0,50? one way travel. Please note that no cars are allowed on site except for service vehicles.

SHUTTLE BUSES: Leaving from Ciampino Airport, there will be shuttle buses to the campsite at the price of 12,00? for one-way travel.
For people arriving at Fiumicino airport, go the airport train terminal and get the local train to Civitacastellana. From Civitacastellana Train Station there will be shuttles to the site at the price of 6,00? for one-way travel.

Please note that shuttles will only run from the airport to the festival site on 30th & 31st July and will be running from the festival site back to the Airport on 3rd & 4th August.
Return tickets will be on sale at the festival info-point.

The 2009 [RELOADED] festival site is simply stunning. The Monte Gelato area is located between the two historical villages of Mazzano Romano and Calcata where the Treja River flows along its territory, creating small healthy swimming waterfalls. With its lush greenery and aged trees, this area is renowned for its natural beauty. Easily located from Rome (45KM) and 5 KM's from the historic village of Clacata, built on volcanic cliffs and overtaken by Italian artists in the 60's who restored the ancient town making it a truly inspired visit. The beautiful lakes of Bracciano and Martignano are a short 15-minute drive plus the coast of Rome is 30 minutes, meaning that this year's [Reloaded] is the perfect location for those looking to turn their festival experience into a holiday.

Un evento straordinario dal 1 al 7 giugno alla Fondazione Merz di Torino

Il rito del fuoco chiude la mostra di Wolfgang Laib

La mostra dell’artista tedesco Wolfgang Laib che è aperta al pubblico dallo scorso 9 aprile, si concluderà la prima settimana di giugno con un Mahayagna, una cerimonia vedica del fuoco officiata da 45 Bramini provenienti dai più importanti templi del sud dell’India.

Questa mostra è iniziata mesi fa, celebrando il rituale vedico del fuoco su una collina di granito nel sud dell’India e continua oggi a Torino, con l’installazione di centinaia di piccole montagne di riso, una fila di piccole montagne di polline e una grande montagna Ziggurat di cera d’api; ed è qui che si concluderà con un altro rito del fuoco officiato da 45 Bramini provenienti da uno dei più importanti templi del sud dell’India. Un’esperienza che coinvolgerà persone molto diverse tra loro, per cultura e provenienza, accomunandole però in quella visione universale e senza tempo della nostra esistenza, così simile per tutti e da tutti condivisa. E’ un rituale molto suggestivo che si tramanda immutato da millenni e che si celebra per il benessere di tutti gli esseri viventi. Si brucia il mondo materiale, simboleggiato dai vari tipi di cibo, riso, lenticchie, burro, frutta, verdura, fiori e latte, insieme a pezzi di stoffa, vestiti, erbe e piante medicinali.

Il pubblico avrà l’occasione di contemplare nelle sale espositive i lavori realizzati dall’artista e parallelamente assistere, nello spazio esterno della Fondazione, ad uno straordinario evento culturale raramente visibile in un paese occidentale.

Il rituale verrà svolto per 7 giorni, dal 1 al 7 giugno e il pubblico potrà assistervi nei seguenti orari:
• da lunedì 1 giugno a venerdì 5 giugno e domenica 7 giugno: dalle 11 alle 14 e dalle 17 alle 20
• sabato 6 giugno: dalle 11 alle 14 e dalle 19 alle 22

Critical City, Eris 4 e SmartRM alla ribalta del Garage capitalistico di Telecom Italia e dPixel. Ma anche Blogo fa la sua parte.

La seconda edizione della giornata dedicata al TechGarage di Roma, anche quest'anno ospitata dalla Università Luiss, è stata arricchita da un altro evento, il Working Capital Camp, lo scorso 22 maggio.

Direi che se volete sapere meglio un po' cosa faccio qui al lavoro potete vedervi il video di Filippo sul sito TechGarage :)

NON CI CREDO. Avete comprato il digitale terrestre? La scelta televisiva si e' ampliata?
